What we do

Talent that fits your business, not the other way around.

One engineer

The exact skill you are missing, without building an employment setup to get it.

A small team

A pod built around your roadmap and your hours, hired one at a time.

Free lifetime replacement

If the fit is ever wrong, we find and screen a replacement at our cost, for as long as the engagement runs. The hiring risk sits on our side, not yours.

The difference

Keep control of the work. Lose the overhead.

Hiring in India on your own?

  • Who registers the entity, and how long does that take?
  • Who runs payroll, provident fund and the monthly filings?
  • How do you screen a market you cannot read?
  • And who carries the cost when the hire is wrong?

Working with Bandwiith Technologies

  • Talent employed by us in India
  • Payroll, contracts and compliance handled
  • Screened by our senior engineer before you see anyone
  • Free lifetime replacement if the fit is wrong
How it works

Simple on your side. Thorough on ours.

Five steps, about two weeks. Click through them.

Fill in the form, or book a call

Tell us the role, the seniority you have in mind and roughly when you need someone. It takes about two minutes and there is no obligation. If you would rather talk it through than type it out, book a call and we will take the details there instead.

We get on a call

Thirty minutes on what the role actually does day to day, the stack, the shape of your team and how many hours of overlap you need. We write the brief, send it back, and you correct it until it matches what you actually want. Every candidate you see afterwards is measured against that document.

We source and screen

We source against the brief, hold a first conversation to check motivation and communication, then run a full technical interview with our senior engineer. Most candidates do not get past that interview, which is the point. You never see a profile we would not hire ourselves.

You interview and choose

You get a written assessment on every candidate: what they have built, how they think, and what we are unsure about. No candidate arrives without stated reservations. You run the final interview, make the decision, and you are free to say no to all of them and ask us to keep looking.

They start, on our payroll

They join your team in your tools, on your hours, reporting to you like any other engineer. We employ them in India and run payroll, statutory compliance, contracts, benefits and IP assignment behind them. You get one invoice a month in dollars, and free replacement cover for as long as the engagement runs.

R. Mehta
Senior Backend Engineer  ·  7 years
sample
Go, Node, PostgreSQL, Kafka, AWS  ·  Bengaluru  ·  5 hours of overlap with US Eastern
Technical depth Strong

Built and owned the payments ledger at a Series B fintech. Walked us through an idempotency failure he shipped the fix for, unprompted.

Product judgement Strong

Pushed back on two of our scenario questions with a simpler design. Thinks about what the feature is for, not only how to build it.

Ownership Strong

Has run a workstream with no product manager. Comfortable with an unclear spec, and asks directly when it stays unclear.

Communication Good

Clear written English, thinks out loud well. Quiet in a group until asked, which is worth knowing if your team is loud.

Our read: strong fit for a small team that needs the backend owned without supervision. Would be underused somewhere with heavy process.

Sample profile, shown to illustrate the format.

Interviewed by an engineer

Our senior engineer runs every technical screen, so the notes read like an opinion you can argue with.

The reservations, in writing

A shortlist with no doubts in it has not been screened. It has been sold.

A short list, deliberately

We take few searches at a time, and tell you when the pool is thinner than we hoped.

Employment handled

Payroll, compliance, contracts, benefits and IP assignment. One invoice a month.

FAQs

The questions we would expect you to ask.

Do I manage the person directly?

Yes. You control the day to day work, priorities and collaboration. We handle the employment side.

How does pricing work?

We quote a monthly rate based on the role, seniority and requirements. We do not publish a generic price because the economics depend on the position.

What happens if the candidate is not the right fit?

The commercial terms and any replacement provision are agreed before the engagement starts.

How is this different from a staffing agency?

Two things. Every technical screen is run by our senior engineer rather than a recruiter with a keyword list, and we take a small number of searches at a time so shortlists stay short.

We have no entity in India. Can we still hire?

Yes, and it is the main reason companies come to us. The engineer is employed by us. You need no entity, no employer of record and no local payroll provider.

Who owns the code and the intellectual property?

You do. Assignment runs from the engineer to us and from us to you, written into the agreement before anyone starts work.

We come back within one working day. If we do not think we can fill the role, we will say so then.
